A marijuana addiction is no different than many other addictions that plague people nowadays. Marijuana can be deceptive, as it appears the most benign on the pecking order of illegal drugs. Unfortunately, marijuana can produce some negative consequences and some dangerous side-effects that can wreak havoc in the users life.
Addictions are usually defined as a pattern of use over time with a substance and or behavior that is usually associated with increased usage, and negative consequences. If I can't go a day without a particular substance and or behavior, that usually indicates a problem, indicative of an addiction. I know what you might be saying, "but I only use on weekends." Well unfortunately, "binging" so to speak, like using cannabis on Friday and Saturday only, does not remove the "addictive" label.
